  My darling,

  The weekend just gone was “quiet”. But then every weekend and most weekdays are “quiet”. And it’s in that quietness that your absence becomes more pronounced.

  You know, my love, that in the last month or two of your life here I would take the opportunity while you were resting to touch your hand and stroke your arm gently and realise that the time was coming when I would no longer be able to do something that simple.

  That reality is now here. How I miss the touch of your hand and the warmth of your embrace. The closest I come to that tangible intimacy is to hold that special photo of you and wander down memory lane. How I treasure those memories now.

  However, there is a need for me not to get lost down that lane. The need is for balance between past, present and future. Gaining that balance is one thing; maintaining it is quite another.

  When I now say or read or think of “heaven”, my heart skips a beat. Let me share just one example.

  Colossians 3:1-4 (NLT)

  “Since you have been raised to new life with Christ, set your sights on the realities of heaven, where Christ sits in the place of honour at God’s right hand.  Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth. For you died to this life, and your real life is hidden with Christ in God. And when Christ, who is your life, is revealed to the whole world, you will share in all his glory”.

  “…..set your sights on the realities of heaven….”  That is much easier now than it was before April 12^th. I respond very much to the expression, “the realities of heaven”. It is real. Like the book title says, “Heaven Is For Real”.
   

  Well, I need to do some more preparation for Barney. Of course, I will write again soon,
