  • Our Journey Through The Valley (10)

    11 May, 2013

Psalm 73 is becoming increasingly significant on this journey. This psalm - more than any other I can call to mind at the moment - touches on some of the great questions of life. The bottom line is that the psalmist breaks through to a wonderful insight i.e. it is not the journey that counts so much the end and lasting result. Verse 73 speaks of the destiny of the unrighteous as compared with the destiny of the righteous. Verses 16-20 tell of the outcome of a life lived for unrighteous. What kind of destiny do the unrighteous have? Nothing compared with the destiny of the righteous.

Verses 27 23 - Yet I still belong to you; you are holding my right hand. You will keep on guiding me with your counsel, leading me to a glorious destiny. Whom have I in heaven but you? I desire you more than anything on earth.  My health may fail, and my spirit may grow weak, but God remains the strength of my heart; he is mine forever.  (NLT)
