  • Our Journey Through The Valley (26)

    26 June, 2013

I first need to apologise to those folk who regularly visit this blog in order to stay in touch with our journey. We have been away for a number of reasons and only now do we have an opportunity to bring our news up-to-date.

Our blog entry (24) back on June 19th told of the death of Bev's brother-in-law, Colin. Since then we have been involved in the planning for his funeral. I (Mike) was approached by Colin's 2 sons saying that Colin asked if I would conduct his funeral. I did so and it was an amazing day. God gave me what I can only describe as "great favour" in the eyes of the people and I simply told the story of what happened in the hospital room when Colin called on the mercy of God and the peace of God invaded his life and the sense of God's presence filled the room.

Colin was very aware that someone was standing behind him and then he felt the hands of that person resting on his head and the peace he felt he described as "extra-ordinary" and "indescribable". When the rest of the family returned to his room, they knew something very significant had taken place. They didn't know what that was until the funeral service.

Our own journey has been impacted by that experience.
