Our Journey Through The Valley (39)
27 August, 2013
We have been overwhelmed in yet another way over this past week. Many of you will know our daughter, Karen. She has been an organizer since the day she was born. This past week we have benefitted from her organizational skills in a way that has blessed us all.
Karen offered to walk in an event to raise money for the Motor Neurone Disease Association. Motivated initially by her mother's diagnosis last March, somehow she has tapped into a wide network of people and the response has been amazing! She originally thought that $2,000 was an expression of faith in people responding. Today she has passed the $4,000 mark and is still going.
For Bev and I to see Karen so passionate about this opportunity just thrills us no end. Equally, to see the way our friends far and near have responded has moved us very deeply. To be able to forward what looks like becoming around $5,000 to the Motor Neurone Disease Association to assist in their work of supplying assistance to those who are disabled by this disease is very rewarding for us. Many victims of MND couldn't afford the equipment that is available were it not for the Association and people like Karen....and like you. Thank you so very much.
