  • Our Journey Through The Valley (50)

    6 November, 2013

Last Saturday, Bev and I received a very special gift, a gift that lifted our spirits and reminded us again about how many people love and pray for us.

Bev has retained her ties with the ladies' Bible Study Group to which she belonged at our previous Church.  The ladies in that group are (almost exclusively) from our previous Church. Their presence at what became a High Tea and the effort that they had put into the preparation with all the lovely touches of table clothes, fine china, flower arrangements....no worthwhile idea was left untouched.

It certainly was a heart-warming gift given primarily as an expression of their love for Bev. To top it all off, the event raised a further $1,000 for the Motor Neurone Disease Association.

Encouragement is a special gift. We are so grateful for the folk who contact us via "Barnabas" or a card in the mail, a phone call, an email. To know that there are hundreds of people who pray for us - many of them everyday - helps us on the journey.

The Apostle Paul certainly recognised the invaluable pratice and presence of prayer - especially when things were tough-going.

He will rescue us because you are helping by praying for us. As a result, many will give thanks to God because so many people's prayers for our safety have been answered.  (2 Cor 1:11)
