Today's Moment With Mark" - (9) - Thy Kingdom Come
21 November, 2012
After John was put in prison, Jesus went into Galilee, proclaiming the good news of God. "The time has come," he said. "The kingdom of God is near. Repent and believe the good news!" (Mark 1:14-15)
What is the Kingdom of God? Well, it's not a geographical reality or a kingdom like a human king might rule over. It doesn't have borders or boundaries. The answer is seen in Jesus' understanding when He taught us to pray, 'Your kingdom come'. The answer is in the very next line of the Lord's Prayer. "Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven".
Wherever the will of God prevails, there is the Kingdom. When we do the will of God, we are bringing in the Kingdom. The will of God is perfectly done in heaven. The Kingdom of God is the authority of God in operation; the sovereignty of God prevailing; the rule of God established.
