  • When God says "You Must..." (Part 13)

    9 February, 2014

Do you ever have the feeling when faced with opposition that seems intent on delaying, disrupting or destroying  plans that somehow you must have misunderstood what God was doing and "missed the bus", so to speak?

The Apostle Paul seems to have no doubts about what God has said, "You must preach the good news in Rome as well". (Acts 23/11). The constant theme of this "Thought For Today" series has been "When God says you must, you will!  Sooner or later. Come hell or high water. Paul obviously believed this truth. His words were, "So take courage! For I believe God. It will be just as he said. (v.25)

So, how goes your journey today?  Are you struggling with rough seas, contrary winds, fearfulness? You could do worse than take that faith statement and make it your own. "So take courage! For I believe God. It will be just as he said. (v.25)

And please don't assume that because the going is getting tough you have somehow missed God's will. It is folly to assume that contrary circumstances mean you have missed God's will. I would suggest the opposite! If everything is going smoothly all the time without any problems or opposition, then I'd start worrying!!
