  • Today's "Moment With Mark" (21) Healing - Yes or no?

    3 December, 2012

A man with leprosy came and knelt in front of Jesus, begging to be healed. "If you want to, you can make me well again," he said.  Moved with pity, Jesus touched him. "I want to," he said. "Be healed!"   Instantly the leprosy disappeared — the man was healed. (Mark 1:40-42)

The man with leprosy made a statement that sums up how many of us feel about the whole subject of divine healing.  Let me divide the statement into two parts.

First he said, "If you want to....." Second he said, "You can make me well again".

There was no question in his mind about the ability or power of Jesus to heal him. That's not an issue for him. Jesus could heal him. The real issue was one of willingness - "If you want to..." That's what he didn't know.

Are you currently praying for someone to be healed? If my guess is right, you really believe God can heal that person, don't you? What you don't know is if that is His will.

Do what the leper did and ask Him.
