  • Today's "Moment With Mark" (22) - An Emotional Jesus

    4 December, 2012

Moved with pity, Jesus touched him. "I want to," he said. "Be healed!"  Instantly the leprosy disappeared — the man was healed. (Mark 1:41, 42)

The fact that Jesus healed the leper is "noteworthy" - to say the least!! But it is why He healed him that grabs my attention - with a very firm grip - even more than the healing itself. Jesus was "moved with pity".

Jesus is always moved with compassion when He is confronted with the evidence of broken humanity in whatever form that may take. And that is true even when healing is not on God's agenda for that person; when God's healing for that person will take place but not until they are ushered by death into the presence of the Lord.
