  • Today's "Moment With Mark" (7) - Thy Kingdom Come

    19 November, 2012

After John was put in prison, Jesus went into Galilee, proclaiming the good news of God.  "The time has come," he said. "The kingdom of God is near. Repent and believe the good news!"  (Mark 1:14-15)

This is the most concise declaration of the gospel in all of Scripture. It has 4 components.

    (1) The fullness of time has come in God's Master Plan and

    (2) The Kingdom of God is about to invade this world. (Our response to this declaration of war is.....)

    (3) Repent and

    (4) Believe the Good News.

That's it, folks!  The irreducible minimum of the gospel. Anything and everything else is an expression or  explanation of the Gospel message.
