When God says "You Must...." (Part 5)
22 December, 2013
"You must preach the good news in Rome as well". So said the Lord to the Apostle Paul and when God says "you must", you will!! (Acts 23)
But now he is confronted with another situation (not of his own making) in which Paul will try to explain to the Governor the encounter he has had with the living Christ and how his life was thrown into rapid reverse. (Acts 24)
Governor Felix had the power of life and death. The mission of Paul to Rome could end here depending on the outcome of this trial. The whole case depended on who was the most persuasive; the Jewish leaders championed by the high-powered lawyer, Tertullus, or an itinerant preacher called Paul.
What is not immediately obvious to the 'secular eye' is that Paul's case is championed by the Lord God Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth!! Yes, that does put things in a different light, doesn't it?Today's thought? As you seek to do the will of God, your cause is championed by no less than the One Who ensured that the verdict handed down that day long ago worked in favour of the fulfilment of the Divine Imperative in Paul's life, "You must...."
